Sprouted Garden in Los Angeles

It’s been two weeks since I’ve moved from Los Angeles. I’m already dreaming about one of my favorite omnivore-friendly spots: Sprouted Garden. They serve the best vegan curry and home-made gelato. Whether you’re looking for a place to study during the day or to chill after a long day at work, Sprouted Garden is here for you.

If it’s your first time, you must try their Buddha Curry. The Spinach Tempeh Masala is also quite appetizing (above). Remember to order it with a side of quinoa.

On hotter days, order the refreshing Lakshmi Salad (below) comprised of mixed greens, tomatoes, cucumber, carrot, beets and sprouts. Squeeze that lemon on.

If you’re super hungry, one salad won’t be enough. Try the Edendale Salad (below) made of spinach, fennel and arugula. The pecans are caramelized with chili and honey.

If you’ve got omnivore friends, they can order the Chicken Tikki Pizza (way right). A more filling salad is the Arrostito (second dish from top). The roasted butternut squash, spicy sweet potato, beets and russet potato scattered on the bed of arugula and spinach is bland yet nutritious. I prefer this clean taste over competing flavors any day. On the left of the pizza is the 9-Inch Kale Salad. Of all these dishes, the most memorable is the mouthwatering appetizer Red Buttons (way bottom). Flavor explosion! Mushrooms will never taste the same again. Each piece is stuffed with roasted red pepper, cashew nuts and paprika. I’m drooling just thinking about it.

For what felt like the seventh visit, I ordered the Japanese Garden Roll (below left) and the Sour Coconut Soup (below right). The roll was bland. The soup was a strong yummy. I recommend getting this warm soup on cooler days. The two dishes made a compatible couple, balancing each other out.

And how can you not love the seating booth made of wooden pianos?

They’ve got an organic garden in the back. Artichokes, tomatoes and all the green beauties!
